  I have had excellent service, the GP's of which I have seen a few are very good. You can always get an emergency appointment. GP's are overrun everywhere in the country and this one is similar they are pushed and pulled around by government, then under funded.

  My mum almost DIED due to the medical negligence that took place within this surgery. She was diagnosed with COPD in 2012 without knowledge of such a diagnosis... it was in her records but she was not made aware of this. For the past year and a half, she's suffered from a terrible Anxiety disorder and panic attacks. There are so many things I could say about this surgery but it will not fit in here, so I will break them down: - After visiting the surgery due to severe breathlessness, she was told it was 'all in her head' due to her Anxiety when in fact she's had a chest infection for 2 years without proper examination, diagnosis or treatment, causing her COPD (that she didn't even know she had) to worsen. She spent a week in hospital after almost dying and now only has 1/3 of her lung working. Your doctors assumed my mums breathlessness and tight chest was anxiety related, without even doing a physical examination! Her anxiety did not cause her breathlessness, her COPD caused her anxiety because she was unable to breathe!! -She was wrongfully prescribed an inhaler (without them even checking if she had Asthma) which actually acted as an aggrovator to her COPD, as told by doctors at the Hospital. --My mum sat in that room and cried from loss of hope with her deteriorating condition and each time she was treated as if she were hysterical and melodramatic. She has spent the last year and a half being unable to do the most basic of tasks because of her deteriorating lung condition. The doctors at the hospital told us that she's had a chest infection for 2 years that hasn't been detected by your doctors which has led to the worsening of her COPD. They also said that Carbon Dioxide was circulating in her body because she was unable to inhale Oxygen effectively. She had a huge attack and was taken to hospital and is now at home on a Nebuliser. My mum could be dead right now. Two of your doctors came out to see her and admitted that they never even examined her - for the past 5 years!!!! I am disgusted and incredibly angry about this. I would like to know WHY, when my mother came in with a history of respiratory infections and symptoms such as severe breathlessness, tightness of the chest and throat and mucus in the throat, your doctors did NO PHYSICAL EXAMINATION and assumed they were all anxiety related. I would also like to know why my mother was not made aware of her COPD back in 2012 and why none of your doctors worked in accordance with this on her records. Disgusted.

  If I could give a 0 star I would. The service here is absolubtley shocking. I've just had an ordeal with an extremely rude receptionist who clearly hates her job. Elmwood no longer allow you to call to request your prescriptions... I have logged in online to find I have a surprise medication review slapped on my medication so can't order it. At my precious doctors, medication reviews were notified in advance??? So now I have no medication, which is a medication you can't just stop taking... this isn't deemed as worthy of an urgent aptment by the receptionist who clearly is clueless. Ordered what I could but it won't be available to me until next week. Not good enough. Seems these receptionists need reminding of their job description, which does not state they are doctors! Angry and worried about missing my medication to say the least - ironically the medication is for anxiety!!! Just registered with oaklands which has a lot of good said about it. I'd just like to add that this is not an isolated incident either. The professionalism of the receptionists and some medical staff is often questionable to say the least. There is one positive - the only positive I could possibly mention, and that is Dr Morton. He is a fantastic Dr with an obvious passion for his job. His care for his patients is genuine and you really feel it when sat in his office. He has all the time in the world for you, and gets the job done. It speaks volumes that I had to wait over a month to get an appointment with him! - everyone wants to see him! Dr Morton, I wish there were more like you out there!
